Research


NETschool Bendigo project is working with LaTrobe University to evaluate how it works:
  • The first will seek to evaluate the re-engagement and education strategies used in the project with the aim of determining their effectiveness and making necessary adjustments as the project proceeds (this level of evaluation will include accountability under the Leading Schools Fund project implementation plan, financial accountability and reporting to partner organisations).

  • The second will be to conduct research into all elements of the model with a view to determine its effectiveness and recommending the degree of transferability to other communities and settings.

Research.
2007 - Research will be conducted from August 2007 to August 2008. The research aims are :
  • To determine whether the program is making a positive difference to students' reengagement with educational and community life.
  • To implement a professional development strategy based on reflective practice.
  • To develop a deeper articulation and documentation of each component especially the Mentor-Learner relationship. The NETschool-Family relationship, protocols with other agencies, entry and exit processes.
    This research is being funded by The R.E. Ross Trust.

    2006 - Di Cox from the School of Social Work and Social Policy, Faculty of Health Sciences La Trobe University Bendigo, conducted a design evaluation of NETschool.
